Team Checklist
- Mission Trip Application – Turn into the church office. If you have participated in a mission trip within the past 18 months, you do not need to complete an application.
- Valid Passport – Please ensure you have a valid passport with at least one empty visa page. Please provide a copy of your passport (picture page) to Jim at our first meeting.
- Airfare – Your ticket will cost around $1700-$1900. We will be fundraising, but please let us know if you have financial concerns.
- Waiver and Background Check – All participants are required to complete a liability and waiver form. Also, new applicants are required to complete a background check. Both forms will be available at our first meeting (if you participated in a mission trip in the past 18 months, you do not need to redo the background check). All team members must complete a waiver form.
- Travel Medical Insurance – Overseas travel and medical insurance is highly recommended. One of the best online sites is squaremouth.com.
- Spending Money – Recommend between $300-$500 for incidentals like meals out, tourist activities, etc. The amount you bring is entirely up to you.
- Immunizations – We will NOT be in a malaria area. Check with your doctor or clinic for required immunizations. Park City Vaccines is a great resource for information and immunizations.
- Raising Support – A part of missions is praying and trusting in the Lord to provide. All team members are expected to compose support letters and raise a portion of their expenses. Sample letters are available. If you feel uncomfortable asking for money, pray on it. Make a list of people who you feel might support your mission trip. Mountain Life members will receive a separate letter. We will discuss this further at our first meeting.
- Fundraisers – Mission trips are not cheap, so fundraising is a must, the team will brainstorm ideas together.
