Nepal

Mountain Life has had the privilege of joining in God’s work in the country of Nepal.  This is largely in part to the relationship we have formed with Rajan Neupane, the Pastor and Radio Nepal Program director in Kathmandu, Nepal.  When Pastor Rajan visited Mountain Life in 2009 to share the impact his radio program was having in the most remote parts of his country, the response from Mountain Lifers was overwhelming.  We have since begun partnering with Rajan in various ways to further God’s work in Nepal.

Radio Nepal

Radio Nepal is a weekly gospel radio program which reaches the very remotest parts of mountainous Nepal, where there are no roads or electricity.  The broadcasts and follow-up correspondence courses cost nearly $20,000 per year.  Since the program began in February 2009, countless thousands have heard the gospel over the airways and well over 1,200 letters have been received with request to be sent Bible study materials.

Hope Orphans’ Home – Kathmandu, Nepal

An unexpected outgrowth of our interest in Nepal has been a fledgling relationship with a small orphan home run by a Pastor-Wife team just outside of Kathmandu.  When we learned that the 16 children currently in the home were not able to register for the new school year because of lack of money, Mountain Life was able to fund the entire year’s schooling (school fees, supplies & uniforms).  We plan to explore a continued relationship with these dear children.

The Vision for a Missions Training Center

When Mountain Life members went to Nepal in May 2010, the vision was cast for the building of a Missions Training center in a strategic location in Nepal that will help Pastor Rajan Neupane & his Kathmandu church reach their goal of planting a church in every one of Nepal’s 75 districts in the next 10 years.  The cost for land and a building is estimated at $100,000.  Since this vision was shared with Mountain Lifers in June 2010, spontaneous giving of $74,000 has made the vision an imminent reality.  Pastor Rajan is now actively seeking the best parcel of land for the training center, and the Lord willing, aims to have a choice made by October 2011.
