At Mountain Life, we believe God has a heart for people, and that as we learn about Christ and grow in our love for him, a natural result will be a deeper compassion for people. That is why every month, we will try to highlight simple ways we can assist others in practical ways — in our local community, our church body, and around the world.
The Local Outreach team of Mountain Life is supporting the Christian Center’s Backpack Drive and encourage you to get involved.
This Past spring, the Christian Center started a food for kids backpack program…and they asked for more! Too many children go home over the weekend to homes where there is either no food, or unhealthy, non-kid-friendly food. That is where the “Food For Kids Backpack Program”comes in. It is their goal to provide every child in Park City’s elementary schools who are in need of food have access to healthy, kid-friendly food every weekend for the entire school year.
This year, they are expanding! Not only are they serving four area elementary schools, they are expanding to serve the Goshute Native American Reservation. They are also going to provide backpacks for Myanmar refugees recently relocated to Heber.
To kickoff the “Food for Kids”, they are hoping to collect 200 new backpacks filled with school supplies. For more information and to see the school supply list, click here. If you have questions, you may contact our Local Outreach Team Leader, Keara Sardo | 435.640.2600.
